Previously, at 5:15 p.m., a Circle of Silence will be held in the Plaza Virgen de los Reyes, on the occasion of the campaign for homeless people.

The World Day of the Poor was instituted by Pope Francis at the close of the Year of Mercy (2015-2016) as a concrete gesture of prayer and welcome to the poor within the Church, and whose celebration was entrusted to the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization. This year the message for the occasion has been written by Pope Leo XIV. The day has the motto ‘You, Lord, are my hope’ (Ps 71:5)”.
