The Dean of the Cathedral Chapter, Francisco José Ortiz Bernal, together with the Chapter’s Administration Delegate, Francisco Román Castro, have made a technical visit to the Villarreal workshop. The purpose of this visit was to supervise the progress of the restoration work on pieces from the Royal Chapel. This inspection is part of the usual control process that is carried out in all interventions related to the movable property of the temple.
During the visit, the progress of the restoration of the canopy of the Virgen de los Reyes, the central piece of the artistic ensemble of the Royal Chapel, was reviewed. Likewise, work was evaluated on the front of the altar and on the canopy of the altarpiece of the Virgen de los Reyes, currently in the process of intervention.
In addition to these restoration works, the workshop is executing new works, among which a reliquary of Blessed Marcelo Spínola stands out, of which an advance was shown during the inspection.
