CONSERVATION WORK ON THE STONE THAT HOLDS THE STAINED GLASS

Beginning on Monday, conservation and restoration projects will commence on the stone that houses stained glass window number 5 (north aisle, above the San Francisco chapel) and number 24 (southeast transept clerestory above the San Pedro nave) currently in the process of being dismantled.

The work to be done, both interior and exterior, will consist of a superficial cleaning, a chemical and mechanical treatment to eliminate the crusted on dirt, the reinforcement, mended using fragmentation, sealing, filling, precise reconstruction, and its ultimate protection.

All of these treatments will be carried out by Sur Rehabilitación y Restauración, whose specialist techniques prioritize reversibility and respect for the original work.
