De Profundis’: the tombs of the archbishops of the Cathedral
The Cathedral of Seville houses a remarkable collection of episcopal tombs, a heritage that reflects the importance of the prelates of Seville in the history of the Universal Church.
These tombs are, in themselves, a catechesis, since they speak to us of the Christian meaning of death, understood not as the end but as the passage and beginning of a new life: eternal life.
This guided tour of the Cathedral offers visitors a tour of these works of art and architecture, authentic manifestations in stone of the hope for eternal life — created to receive the recumbent bodies of those who await the hour of their resurrection in Christ.
A highlight of the tour is access, for the first time during a cultural visit, to the crypt of the archbishops located in the Parish of the Sagrario. The visit will also include live sacred music performed by Arcadiantiqua, who will present three musical pieces specially selected for the occasion
