SECURE AND EXCLUSIVE ACCESS: THE NEW INCLUSIVE MEASURE FOR THIS HOLY WEEK AT THE CATHEDRAL

The Chapter of Seville Cathedral has announced a new measure for the upcoming Holy Week, in coordination with the Red Cross of Seville, with the aim of improving care for people with special needs and reduced mobility.

During the passage of the brotherhoods through Seville Cathedral, the Puerta del Lagarto will remain open as an exclusive entrance for people with reduced mobility who usually position themselves along Cardenal Amigo Vallejo Street. Its purpose will be to allow them quick and safe access solely for the use of the restrooms located in the Patio de los Naranjos, without permitting general access to the interior of the temple under any circumstances.

Additionally, on Holy Saturday, a group of more than one hundred people from the Asperger – ASD Association of Seville will visit the Cathedral to watch the passage of the brotherhoods from inside.

With these initiatives, the metropolitan Chapter and the Red Cross reinforce their commitment to a more inclusive Holy Week, ensuring adequate conditions of accessibility, care, and safety for this group.
