El Cabildo de la Catedral de Sevilla, con profunda tristeza, encomienda al Señor a las personas fallecidas en el grave accidente ferroviario ocurrido en Córdoba, así como a los heridos y a sus familias.
Permanecemos en oración y atentos al desarrollo de los acontecimientos.
Evangelio: II Domingo del tiempo ordinario. [Jn 1, 29-34]
En aquel tiempo, al ver Juan a Jesús que venía hacia él, exclamó:
«Este es el Cordero de Dios, que quita el pecado del mundo. Este es aquel de quien yo dije: “Tras de mí viene un hombre que está por delante de mí, porque existía antes que yo”. Yo no lo conocía, pero he salido a bautizar con agua, para que sea manifestado a Israel».
Y Juan dio testimonio diciendo:
«He contemplado al Espíritu que bajaba del cielo como una paloma, y se posó sobre él.
Yo no lo conocía, pero el que me envió a bautizar con agua me dijo:
“Aquel sobre quien veas bajar el Espíritu y posarse sobre él, ese es el que bautiza con Espíritu Santo”.
Y yo lo he visto y he dado testimonio de que este es el Hijo de Dios».

La Catedral de Sevilla, un “bosque de piedra” visto desde las alturas
Desde las cubiertas del mayor templo gótico del mundo, la arquitectura se revela desde una perspectiva diferente. A más de 35 metros de altura, contrafuertes, arbotantes, pináculos y cresterías forman un auténtico bosque de piedra donde nada es decorativo: todo responde a una necesidad estructural.
La belleza nace aquí de la ingeniería. La fe se transforma en equilibrio, y la lógica gótica se convierte en paisaje.
Este recorrido por las cubiertas permite comprender cómo la Catedral ha sostenido sus grandes bóvedas durante más de cinco siglos y cómo, desde lo alto, dialoga con la ciudad de Sevilla y su historia.
The Cathedral of Seville, a “stone forest” seen from above
From the rooftops of the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, architecture reveals itself from a completely different perspective. More than 35 metres above ground, flying buttresses, pinnacles and stone structures form a true stone forest, where nothing is ornamental and everything serves a structural purpose.
Here, beauty is born from engineering. Faith becomes balance, and Gothic logic turns into landscape.
This rooftop visit offers a unique insight into how the Cathedral has supported its vast vaults for over five centuries, while also revealing its deep connection with the historic city of Seville.

🌸 Ofrenda floral al beato Marcelo Spínola en la Catedral de Sevilla.
Durante la mañana de hoy, alumnos de primaria, secundaria y bachillerato del Colegio @sagradocorazonsevilla de la Fundación Spínola, han acudido a la capilla de los Dolores de la Catedral, donde han realizado una oración y una ofrenda floral sobre la tumba del beato.

El Altar de Plata de la Catedral de Sevilla entra en la recta final de su restauración.
La intervención integral sobre el Altar de Plata, una de las grandes insignias barrocas del templo, afronta su fase definitiva tras cumplirse un año desde el inicio de los trabajos.
En este carrusel compartimos algunos momentos del proceso de desmontaje, iniciado en enero de 2025, paso imprescindible para llevar a cabo una restauración profunda y respetuosa. Los trabajos han incluido la limpieza química y mecánica de las piezas, la consolidación estructural del conjunto y la recuperación de elementos dañados por el paso del tiempo.
Diseñado en el siglo XVIII por Domingo Martínez y ejecutado por destacados plateros sevillanos, este altar monumental volverá próximamente a ocupar su lugar en el transepto del crucero de la Catedral, devolviendo al templo uno de sus grandes símbolos de fe, arte e historia.
The Altar de Plata of Seville Cathedral enters the final stage of its restoration
The comprehensive restoration of the Altar de Plata, one of the Cathedral’s most outstanding Baroque masterpieces, is now nearing completion, one year after the work began.
This carousel includes footage from the dismantling process, which started in January 2025 and was essential for carrying out a thorough and careful restoration. The intervention has involved chemical and mechanical cleaning, structural consolidation, and the recovery of elements affected by time.
Designed in the 18th century by Domingo Martínez and crafted by renowned Sevillian silversmiths, the altar will soon return to its place in the Cathedral’s crossing, restoring one of the temple’s great symbols of faith, art and history.

The Treasury Room of Seville Cathedral, historically known as the Old Accounting Office, was far more than a storage space.
For centuries, it played a key role in the financial administration of the Cathedral Chapter, overseeing accounts, revenues and assets that sustained the liturgical, artistic and pastoral life of the Cathedral.
Today, this space stands as a historical testimony to the institutional structure that made possible the spiritual and cultural legacy of Seville Cathedral.
