The Cathedral Chapter of Seville is made up of 41 canons. Of these, 22 are active and 19 are retired, all appointed by the Archbishop for their pastoral qualities.
Each canon performs specific functions, headed by the President Dean and supported by a delegated commission that attends to areas such as heritage and pastoral care.
Honorary positions such as archpriest, archdeacon, cantor, treasurer, Head Chaplain of San Fernando and Sacristan Mayor are also preserved.
