The Cathedral celebrates this Thursday the anniversary of the Translation of Saint Ferdinand with the opening of his urn and a Solemn Mass.

Seville Cathedral commemorates this Thursday, May 14, the anniversary of the transfer of the remains of Saint Ferdinand to his current reliquary urn, carved by Laureano de Pina in 1729. To mark this occasion, the Cathedral Chapter has organized a day of worship and veneration in the Royal Chapel to honor the city’s Patron Saint.

The day will begin at 8:00 AM with the opening of the Reliquary Urn. Subsequently, at 8:30 AM, a Solemn Mass will be celebrated in honor of the Monarch, presided over by the Dean of the Chapter and concelebrated by the Royal Chaplains.

From the end of the Eucharist until 11:55 AM, faithful who wish to do so may venerate the remains of the Holy King by passing before the urn. The closing of the sepulchre will take place after the 12:00 PM Mass.
