Throughout the month of May, the Illustrious Cathedral Chapter will celebrate the main services dedicated to the Holy King Ferdinand, whose incorrupt remains are venerated in the Royal Chapel, at the feet of the Virgin of the Kings, Patroness of Seville and its Archdiocese.
On Thursday the 14th, the anniversary of the transfer to the current tomb, the Reliquary Urn of King Saint Ferdinand will be opened at 8:00 AM. A solemn Mass in honor of the Monarch will be celebrated at 8:30 AM, presided over by the Very Reverend Dean and concelebrated by the Very Illustrious Royal Chaplains. From the end of the Mass until 11:55 AM, the faithful who wish to do so may venerate the King’s remains by passing in front of the Urn. Once the 12:00 PM Eucharist concludes, the tomb will be closed.
On Tuesday the 26th, Wednesday the 27th, and Thursday the 28th, at 8:00 PM, the Triduum in honor of Saint Ferdinand will take place in the Royal Chapel. Following the tradition of recent years, parish priests from historic Sevillian churches will preside. Specifically, Fr. Miguel Gamaza, parish priest of San Marcos; Fr. Amador Domínguez, parish priest of San Julián and Santa Marina; and Fr. Francisco de los Reyes Rodríguez, parish priest of San Andrés and San Martín, respectively, will preside and preach on each day of the triduum.

In the church of the Hospital of the Venerable Priests, the first to be placed under the patronage of the Holy King, Mr. Hugo Santos Gil will deliver the Proclamation of Saint Ferdinand on Friday the 29th at 8:00 PM.
The group Ministriles Hispalensis and Mr. Pedro Luengo, the Cathedral organist, will provide the musical accompaniment for the event.
The culmination of the Ferdinandine services will arrive on Saturday the 30th, the day of his liturgical Feast. On this day, the Reliquary Urn will be opened again at 8:00 AM, and a solemn Mass in honor of Saint Ferdinand will be celebrated once more at 8:30 AM, presided over by the Very Reverend Dean and concelebrated by the Very Illustrious Royal Chaplains.
At 9:30 AM, the Choral Office will begin, where the canons will pray the Office of Readings and Lauds. Upon its conclusion, dressed in copes and accompanied by the Municipal Corporation, they will make a station at the Royal Chapel to continue with the Eucharistic celebration at the High Altar.
Meanwhile, at 12:00 PM, the Mass for the Patron of the Corps of Engineers, attended by the army, will be held in the Royal Chapel itself. Once finished, the King’s Reliquary Urn will be closed.
The faithful who wish to venerate his incorrupt body on this day will have the opportunity to do so from the end of the 8:30 AM Eucharist until 11:00 AM.
