Seville Cathedral hosts this afternoon the first of five confirmation sessions scheduled for this May, during which young people and adults from the Archdiocese will reaffirm their faith and Christian commitment. More than a thousand people will receive this sacrament at the Cathedral, a fundamental step that perfects baptismal grace and strengthens the mission of the faithful as witnesses of Christ in the world.
The ceremonies will take place every Friday in May at 7:00 PM (on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th) in the Retrochoir of the Cathedral.
This sacrament reaffirms the grace received in Baptism and more firmly unites the faithful with Christ. Likewise, it strengthens the relationship with the Church and grants a special strength of the Holy Spirit to defend the faith and confess the name of Christ before the world.
